Welcome to The North Pacific Fisheries Foundation Website
The North Pacific Fisheries Foundation (NPFF) is 501(c)(3) non-profit private foundation that was founded in 2006 to support research activities in the North Pacific. Our foundation has provided support for a variety of research projects including: seabird interactions with commercial fishing vessels, Atka mackerel movement and abundance, halibut bycatch discard survival, and evaluating unmanned aircraft for Steller sea lion population monitoring.
The foundation's mission is to provide funding and project support for research and education in fisheries and marine mammal science in the North Pacific.
Current members of the Board of Directors include: Nancy Kercheval, Tim Meintz, Dr. Gary Stauffer, and Todd Loomis. Their combined experience in commercial fishing, research, education, and government have enable the foundation to work collaboratively with a variety of institutions to collect information that is critical to resource management in the North Pacific.
Feel free to look through our current and past projects and contact us if you have any questions.
